  • 4.0AH Battery

I also had a separate box containg the FREE tool kit worth £50. This consisted of:-

  • Flexi Crevice Tool
  • Tough Dirt Tool
  • Textile Tool
  • Stretch Hose

The following description is taken from the Vax website.

'The NEW Vax Blade 4 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is powered by the revolutionary ONEPWR 4.0Ah battery, our new interchangeable battery technology and our best ever Vax CoreTM controlled brushless motor.'

'The new Vax ONEPWR Blade 4 outperforms the UK’s top 3 best-selling cordless vacuums*. That’s the cleaning performance of the best corded uprights** in the freedom of a cordless vacuum.'

Sounds pretty impressive doesn't it?!

Before using the vacuum for the first time, the rechargable battery takes three hours to fully charge.

Once assembled, I was ready to start vacuuming! Weighing 3.1kg, the Vax Blade 4 is not heavy for an able bodied person to use.

Starting with the hall I was able to easily glide across the carpet and with the added advantage of dust tracker LED headlights, no dirt was missed! This feature is great for vacuuming when the light isn't so good during the day, but without the need to switch on the electric lights. See lead image.

Easy to use soft brush attachment

Moving on to the stairs, I started with the soft bristle brush attachment which fits into the fexible hose from the additional tool box.

The fexible hose attachment made an easy job of the stairs

For the stair carpet I used the onboard crevice tool which fitted into the flexible hose. You could also use the tough dirt tool in the same way to remove any stubborn marks.

Reaching up to ceiling was no bother

To reach up to the  ceiling where many cobwebs are always gathering, I used the flexible crevice tool attached to the extended tube. This tool is great as it bends and glides across awkward corners.

There are two attachments which are ideal for upholstery, namely the textile tool and the tough dirt tool. You could also use the soft bristle brush.

With a battery running time of up to 45 minutes, this is by far the longest that I have come across in the Vax cordless range. An average three bedroom semi detached house would easily be vacuumed within this time frame. There is no loss of suction even when the bin is full.

The hand held part of the vacuum has a button which is pressed to empty dust and dirt directly into the bin.

RRP is £219.99 and includes the free tool kit worth £50. There is a 3 year guarantee.

Overall this is a very reasonably priced cordless vacuum and the suction is impressive. The only downside to the vacuum is that it is not free standing so beware if you let go of it to answer the door or the phone! There is a wall mount which can be used to attach the vacuum to the wall. Some people may not want to do this if space is lmited in their rooms.
